My Plans for Montebello
Montebello deserves leadership focused on the everyday issues that shape residents' quality of life: good local jobs, a City Hall that earns public trust, and reliable services that keep every neighborhood safe and strong.
My agenda is built around three commitments: grow opportunity, demand accountability, and protect the services families depend on.
MY THREE COMMITMENTS
-
Montebello can grow without losing what makes it home. I'll support smart, responsible business development that creates quality local jobs, helps small businesses succeed, revitalizes commercial corridors, and builds a stronger long-term revenue base for essential city services.
Our city should be a place where a local entrepreneur can open a business, a young person can find opportunity close to home, and families can see new investment improving the places they live, shop, and work.
I'll work to make City Hall a more reliable partner for small businesses, with a clearer, more responsive permitting process and development agreements that deliver real community benefits, not just promises.
Priorities:
✅ Supporting small businesses, local entrepreneurs, and responsible employers
✅ Making permitting, planning, and business assistance more timely and clear
✅ Revitalizing commercial corridors while respecting nearby neighborhoods
✅ Prioritizing local hiring and community benefits on major development projects
✅ Attracting investment that broadens the city's long-term revenue base
✅ Preparing for responsible, community-centered transit-oriented growth -
Public service is a public trust. Residents have a right to understand how City Hall spends their tax dollars, how contracts are awarded, and how they can make their voices heard before decisions are final.
I'll fight for transparent budgeting, accountable contracting, accessible public information, and meaningful community participation. City Hall should be open to every resident, not just insiders or those with the time and connections to navigate government on their own.
Priorities:
✅ Publishing clear, resident-friendly budget information
✅ Making contracts and major spending decisions easier for the public to review
✅ Expanding neighborhood-based outreach and accessible digital communication
✅ Providing timely updates on major projects and service disruptions
✅ Creating real opportunities for resident input before decisions are finalized
✅ Holding city leadership accountable for results and responsible stewardship
-
Montebello's strength comes from its people, its neighborhoods, and the city workers who provide essential services every day. I'll protect what residents value by investing responsibly in public safety, infrastructure, parks, and our frontline workforce.
Every resident should be able to expect a prompt response when they call 9-1-1. I'll make faster police and fire response times a central priority, with responsible investment in staffing, training, equipment, and facilities.
Priorities:
✅ Working to reduce police and fire response times citywide
✅ Supporting investment in first-responder staffing, training, and equipment
✅ Setting clear, public performance goals for emergency response
✅ Supporting police officers, firefighters, and frontline city workers
✅ Pursuing grants and outside funding to strengthen public safety
✅ Investing in safe parks, maintained streets, and responsive neighborhood services
